1. Introduction

ClariLung is a quit-vaping, quit-smoking, and quit-weed application published by Duskfield Studios LLC ("Duskfield," "we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the ClariLung iOS app, Android app, Apple Watch app, Wear OS app, and backend services collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. 2. Information We Collect

ClariLung is designed to collect the minimum data needed to support you through quitting. We collect:

  • Account information: email address, name, and a hashed password when you create an account.
  • Quit profile: substance type (vape, cigarette, cigar, weed, or other), quit mode (taper or cold turkey), quit or start date, baseline usage, and daily cost — all provided by you during onboarding.
  • Activity data: puff or use events you log, craving events, breathing sessions, streak history, journal entries, mood scores, and chat messages you send to the in-app AI Coach.
  • Social data (optional): buddy links, invite codes, and encouragement messages you send or receive. You control who you connect with.
  • Purchase data: subscription status, plan (weekly, monthly, or yearly), and Stripe customer ID. We do not store your card number — Stripe handles that directly.
  • Device and diagnostic data: device type, operating system version, app version, crash logs, and anonymized usage events for debugging and product improvement.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To deliver the core features of ClariLung (streaks, taper targets, milestones, widgets, watch app)
  • To personalize AI Coach responses based on your quit profile and recent cravings
  • To process subscriptions and handle billing through Stripe
  • To send push notifications you have opted into (streak reminders, milestones, coach nudges)
  • To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents
  • To comply with legal obligations

4. AI Coach and Third-Party Processors

ClariLung uses third-party services to operate. We share the minimum data required with each of them and never sell your information.

  • Anthropic (Claude):powers the AI Coach. Your chat messages, quit profile summary, and recent craving context are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses. Anthropic does not train on this data under its commercial API terms.
  • Stripe: processes subscriptions. Stripe receives your email, a unique customer identifier, and the plan you selected.
  • Railway / Cloudflare: host the backend API, database, and website. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • Apple Push Notification service & Firebase Cloud Messaging: deliver push notifications to your device.

5. Health Data

Quit progress, craving events, mood scores, and journal entries are sensitive health-related information. We store them encrypted at rest, transmit them over TLS, and link them only to your account. We do not share this data with advertisers, data brokers, insurers, or employers, and we do not use it for any form of tracking across other apps or websites. ClariLung is a self-help tool and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

6. Widgets, Apple Watch, and Wear OS

The ClariLung widget and Apple Watch / Wear OS companion app read your streak, daily puff target, and recent activity through a secure on-device shared container (App Groups on iOS, shared Room database on Android). No additional data leaves your device through these surfaces beyond what the main app already syncs.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your data as long as your account is active. You can export all of your ClariLung data or delete your account at any time from Settings in the app, which removes your profile, streaks, craving history, journal entries, chat history, and any buddy links you own. Deletions are processed within 30 days and are irreversible. Backup snapshots may retain deleted data for up to 35 days before they roll off.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your data in a portable JSON format
  • Opt out of non-essential push notifications
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information)

California residents can exercise CCPA rights, and EU/UK residents can exercise GDPR rights, by emailing us at the address below.

9. Children's Privacy

ClariLung is rated 12+ on the App Store and Teen on Google Play. It is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as ClariLung evolves. We will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be announced in-app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
